What I Do
I believe in the power of stories and the sharing of lived experience as tools for connectivity and community building. Once unleashed, I believe that power can change the world for the better. As a spoken word artist, educator, motivational speaker -- and over a decade of work in youth spaces -- I’ve seen these transformations firsthand.
Motivator
My goal with motivational speeches and performances is to remind people that it takes grit and human strength to get through your struggles and suffering. You are not alone.
Educator
I believe in building citizens who use their education, work, and natural talent to contribute to the community. Many schools and workplaces are not equipped with the resources to inform people on how they can facilitate change and addressing social issues. That’s where I come in.
Poet
As a solo performer for the past 15 years, I use poetry to speak candidly about my journey to recovery and about broader themes like love, loss, and social issues. During every spoken word performance I look to create a safe and open environment to reflect and to envision what the future could be.
