With strong roots in theater, Joseph LMS Green is a powerful stage performer who has been sharpening his craft for over ten years. His poetry explores universal themes through self-reflection and personal experience. Capturing a range of subjects, he speaks candidly about his personal battles with substance abuse and his work with young adults, as well as more traditional themes like romance and social issues.

Through poetry and performance, Joseph seeks to create an open and safe environment where hard conversations can begin and where art doesn’t just reflect life, but can also serve as a source of change.

Joseph is available to perform at middle schools, high schools, universities, colleges, community centers, private parties, and professional environments. Book Joseph for a feature-length performance drawing from his canon of work, or enlist him to craft a performance around a specific topic related to your event or organization.

Along with his performances Joseph invites Q&A’s, workshops, and lectures.

Joseph’s workshops over four months enhanced the environment we aim to sustain and grow at this nonprofit community arts space. They regularly brought in new and returning adults and teenagers and his ease in working with writers of various backgrounds simultaneously was evident from the beginning. His commitment to being a teacher and mentor could be seen after each session when neither he nor participants wanted to end conversations that had begun through the creative process – truly catalyzing community through art.
